57. Harvey's Ranch Resort 10 miles W of Gallinas N.M.1882-ca.1920
H .A. Harvey came to Las Vegas from Boston for health reasons. He established this dude ranch in a secluded spot on El Cielo Mountain, which was accessible only by burros via a primitive trail. Sitting 10,000 feet above sea level, it was probably the highest cultivated point in the country at the turn of the century. Guests often visited the resort to hunt turkey, deer, mountain lion, bear, etc.
