Esquibel-Gallegos House
1402-10 South Pacific Street; Built ca. 1870

This structure is more commonly known as the former residence of Francisco Lopez, a leading local politician at the turn of the last century. It probably also housed the Jesuit School for Boys. The intersection of roof gables betrays the house's U shape (actually these are two houses joined together), and the spindlework columns add a delicate touch to an otherwise massive building.
